What PawFolio stores
You can create pet profiles, journal entries, photos, notes, milestones, routines, reminders, and optional care details such as mood, weight, water, medications, health records, expenses, and contacts. PawFolio is designed to work without a PawFolio account.
By default, this feature data is stored in PawFolio’s local app storage on your device. PawFolio does not receive or operate a separate account database for this information.
Optional iCloud sync
If you explicitly enable Sync with iCloud, supported PawFolio data is synchronized using Apple’s iCloud services so it can be available on devices using the same iCloud account. Apple controls iCloud account infrastructure and its handling of iCloud data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
Turning sync off stops PawFolio from continuing to synchronize through the app; it does not by itself guarantee that copies already synchronized to iCloud or another device are removed. See the data deletion guide for the current app behavior.
Permissions and Apple services
PawFolio asks for optional permissions only when a feature needs them. Depending on the feature you use, this can include:
- Photos or Camera for pet and journal images.
- Calendar for events.
- Location and WeatherKit for weather context.
- Music for routine playlists.
- Notifications for reminders and alerts.
You can deny a permission and continue using the parts of PawFolio that do not need it. Data handled by an Apple service is also subject to that service’s permissions and policies.
Sharing, advertising, and analytics
The current free launch version does not require an account, subscription, or purchase to create a pet or save a journal entry. PawFolio does not operate advertising or a separate analytics account for your journal data. This statement must be reviewed if a future release adds third-party services or changes its data practices.
Retention and deletion
Use Settings → Services → Clear cache and reset local data → Reset Settings and Data to delete PawFolio data from this device, reset PawFolio iCloud data while keeping this device’s local copy, or delete data from this device and iCloud. The data deletion guide explains each scope and how other syncing devices may be affected. Items you separately keep in Apple services are managed through those services.

PawFolio is an organizational and memory tool, not a veterinary, medical, diagnostic, or emergency service. Care details and reports should not replace professional veterinary advice.
Legal-site hosting
These pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information, including visitor IP addresses, for hosting and security. That hosting activity is separate from the PawFolio app and is governed by GitHub’s Privacy Statement.

Optional household sharing
Household sharing uses Apple’s iCloud sharing services. When you invite someone, the household’s pets, journals, photos, routines, expenses, contacts, and care records become available to that person, including records added later. Invitations allow collaboration with edit access. Personal app preferences and the choice of your own contact card stay private. Review the household’s content before inviting people.
The person sending new invitations needs PawFolio Ultra. Invited editors can join for free with their own iCloud accounts and add photos and routine times without Ultra in the shared household. The owner can review and remove participants or stop sharing even after Ultra access ends; an expired subscription does not automatically stop an existing share.
