Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to Pet Care: Dog and Cat Tracker, also referred to as Pet&Care, operated by Daniel Carrero. It covers the app on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
What Data We Collect
Information users provide directly may include:
- Account and profile details such as name, email address, account identifier, and profile photo
- Pet profiles, routines, medications, expenses, health records, mood logs, weight logs, water logs, emergency contacts, notes, files, photos, videos, or other user-generated content
- Location data when people enable location-based features
- HealthKit daylight exposure data when people enable HealthKit features
- Purchase or subscription information used to unlock or manage paid features
- Prompts, uploads, images, or generated content used by AI-powered features
Information collected automatically or through related services may include:
- Crash logs, diagnostics, reliability data, and app usage or interaction data
- Identifiers needed to recognize an account, device, session, subscription state, or cloud sync state
Some data leaves the device to support app functionality such as accounts, syncing, purchases, support, weather, maps, calendar, HomeKit, notifications, or AI features. Some of this data may be linked to a person, account, device, or persistent identifier.
How We Use Data
We use data to operate and improve the app, maintain accounts and sync, provide optional features, manage subscriptions and entitlements, provide support, send reminders or account/security alerts, understand product usage when analytics are enabled, find bugs, and provide AI features the user chooses to use.
Providers and Services
The app may use the following providers and platform services:
- Firebase Analytics for optional analytics
- Firebase Auth and Firebase/Firestore for accounts, authentication, backup, and sync features
- Apple iCloud and CloudKit for cloud sync and sharing features
- StoreKit for in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Apple Maps, MapKit, and geocoding for nearby places and location-based features
- WeatherKit for weather-related insights
- EventKit and Apple Calendar for calendar events
- HomeKit for supported home features
- HealthKit for optional daylight exposure features
- Photo Library, camera, microphone, speech, and local device permissions for features the user chooses
- Notifications for reminders, alerts, and app updates
- OpenAI for selected AI features, and on-device Apple Intelligence or local MLX where available
When Data Is Shared
When a feature needs online processing, syncing, account handling, purchases, weather, maps, calendar, HomeKit, support, or AI processing, relevant data may be sent off the device to operate that feature. Some data is shared with outside service providers that help operate the app or related services. Optional services are used only when enabled or when the user chooses the feature that needs them.
Payments and Subscriptions
The app offers in-app purchases or subscriptions through StoreKit. Purchase or subscription information may be used to manage billing, entitlements, support, refunds, or account access.
Social Logins and Accounts
The app may let people register or sign in using email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. Authentication providers include Firebase Auth. When someone signs in this way, we may receive account or profile details such as name, email address, account identifier, and profile photo.
Data Retention
We keep data until the user deletes it, closes the account, or asks us to remove it, unless a longer retention period is legally required or needed for security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, or service operation.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your Choices and Rights
Some permissions are optional and are only used if the user chooses the feature that needs them. Users can ask for deletion of their data using the contact details or in-app tools described below. Where supported, users can request account closure, account-related deletion, and data export in the app. Users in the EEA, UK, California, and other regions may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
AI Features
The app includes AI-powered features. When a user chooses to use those features, prompts, uploads, images, pet context, or related content may be processed by the selected AI provider to return a result. AI-related providers may include OpenAI, Apple Intelligence, and local MLX models. Local MLX runs on device where available. Pet&Care does not intentionally retain AI inputs or outputs beyond what is needed to provide the feature, but third-party provider processing, retention, safety, abuse monitoring, and legal requirements may apply. AI output is informational and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.
